At CiteTools, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our citation converter and other academic tools.

Citation and Tool Data

Citation input is sent to our server for processing. Complete conversion results may remain in an in-memory cache for up to one hour.

Difficult citation input may be sent to OpenAI when local parsing cannot identify required fields. Identifier lookups may contact Crossref, NLM, PubMed, DOI.org, Google Books, or Open Library.

AI parsing results may remain in an in-memory cache for up to 24 hours.

The bibliography alphabetizer runs in your browser. Its pasted entries are not sent to CiteTools servers. Alphabetizer entries disappear when the page reloads.

Recent converter history stays in your browser through localStorage until you clear it.

Third-Party Services

Vercel Analytics receives page views. CiteTools does not sell user data.
